Print Unlimited gains Stork U See® quality assurance certification for digital textile printing and sampling operations - May 16th

Boxmeer, Netherlands – Stork Digital Imaging, provider of printing solutions for the textile and graphic printing industry, has certified Print Unlimited, the Horst, Netherlands-based supplier of prints to Europe's fashion industry, as a Stork U See® service centre.

The Stork U See accreditation is recognised by many of the world's leading textile manufacturers as an important standard for printing quality. It is awarded to those companies with the systems in place to maintain total colour control, from creation of the design concept to printing of the finished product. In this way, U See gives both the printing house and customer complete assurance of predictable printing results that can be reproduced with absolute consistency.

The quality standard requires compliance in four specific areas - software ensuring design files can be safely and efficiently exchanged between printing houses and locations, hardware used at each production step, consumables and working procedures.

The U See accreditation - the first to an organisation outside the Stork group - gives Print Unlimited the capability to produce a sample which can be approved locally in the customers’ own design studio, and reproduced anywhere in the world at anytime – simultaneously, if needs be.

Moreover, with four Stork Jade digital printing machines at its Horst plant, the company is also fully capable of executing its own high-quality production runs, according to U See specifications. The company additionally operates Stork’s PrinterServer software and inks.

Print Unlimited uses the U See certification for sample-to-sample and sample-to-production quality control. Jos Bastiaans, Print Unlimited’s general manager, comments: “We are certain the U See standard has a strategic benefit to our business. We are well-placed to offer our customers total peace of mind through a speedy, consistent and high-quality workflow."

Jos Notermans, marketing and sales manager of Stork Digital Imaging, adds, “Stork U See marks a real boost in the competitiveness of digital textile printing. We are delighted to recognise Print Unlimited as the first non-Stork company to have a fully operational U See workflow. We will be offering them our full support, so they enjoy the full benefits of this important quality guarantee.”

Stork U See®: the digital textile standard. Stork U See is a standard whose components together ensure that exact reproductions can be made of each file at different print houses, in different locations, all over the world. This enables designers and brand owners to approve samples locally, in their design studios across different continents, and simultaneously start digital production at competitive prices elsewhere. Already over 20 major brand owners benefit from the advantages Stork U See offers them. At this moment, three sampling services, in Bangkok, New York, and the Netherlands, provide Stork U See certified samples that can be reproduced at either Print Unlimited or Digital Print Asia Co. Ltd. (DPA) in Thailand. DPA is the world’s first digital textile printing mill certified to produce samples according to the digital textile standard. Print Unlimited is the fourth. Further expansion of this network is planned with sampling services in the UK, USA and other countries. Visit www.digital-print-asia.com and www.storkusee.com for additional information.
